Seadfolks
Author: Paul Fleischman
Setting: Inter-city Cleveland, Ohio, present
Main character: Kim
Kim is a girl who wants the whole town to get to work together and know each other. She wants all the people in the town because they are all separated in colors. Her dad died, she only has a picture of him. She is Viemise. Her dad was farmer. She went to an empty lot and planted limebeas to remind her of her dad.

The factor and forcers in Kim's life was her family. Her dad died and she wanted to make him proud of her by planting some seeds and letting them grow in a vacant lot. Her dad was a farmer.

Character I connect To/With: I connect with the guy that died that was next to the window. I, like him imgine things. He was making things up and he really was just looking at a wall. I do that some times in class, when a teacher is boring, i just start making things up.
The Essential 55
1. Answer others using Ma'am and Sir when they are talking to you.
2. Ask a question back when a person ask you one, it shows you have interest in the conversation.
3. Say thank you when you receive something.
4. Keep eye contact when a person is talking to you.
5. Don't be a poor sport if you lose.
6. When you bump into someone say, "Excuse me"
7. Don't smack your lips, eyes, tsk when you do not agree with them.
8. Answer all written questions with a complete sentence. Also in conversation with other, it is important to use complete sentences out of respect for the person.
9. You will make an effort to be organized at all times.
10. When homework is assigned, there is to be no moaning or complaining. This will result in a double assignment.
11. Whether you are in school or not if someone drops something pick it up and hand it to them.
12. Be positive and enjoy life. Some things just aren't worth getting upset over. Keep everything in perspective and focus on the good in your life.
13. Find your niche. You won't be the best at everything you do, but you must be the best at something. Remember, "Most of us will never do great things. But we can do small things in a great way." Explore the things you are good at - ask questions, read and find out about them. Then became the best you can.
14.Carpe diem. You only live today once, so don’t waste it.

I sort of agree with rule 13 because not everybody can do great things but we all can do small things that we are good at. Some people do the best they can and they do very good. Everybody does explore and they do very very very good things like martin luther king Jr.

Rule 12 is a pretty good rule, because you shouldn't get mad or upset over something not that important. Like lets say if you and your friend fight over a dumb thing like, a piece of paper. Some people wouldn't do it like that. Some people would just go on and get a different one but they won't talk for a quite a while.

This one thing we talked about today and I thought it was a nice rule he made up. It shows how you show that you care about what people do and why.

I agree with this problem because then the kids or students would stop every time he or she gives homework. It tells the students that if they moan or complain they will get extra homework. It also shows that they have respect for that teacher if they don't moan or complain.

I chose the organization because last year my backpack was a mess. It took me a while to find the papers that were due. I turned almost everything late. My teachers never saw how messy it was or my parents. The only ones who saw it were my friends. My friends kept on telling me to get a binder, folders, but I just ignored them. They recommended me way more things to me but I just said no. Also, I think everybody shouldn't have a mess because it will take a while to find things.

I can make a paragraph of when you bump into someone say,"excuse me"

What I think the main rule in this book called, The Essential 55, is that when you bump into some one you should say Excuse me. That show you have repsect to the person you bumped. It shows the person you really didn't try to but you accidently did.If people didn't say excuse me they would be running into everybody. One time, this kid was running and he bumped into me while he was running. He shout out excuse me. I thought that was showing me respect.

So far I'm on the chapter Curtis. So far what I red was that they were planting a row of lettuce for them in a lot. It is to be a dumpster lot. They wanted to get the whole town together and be working together but they just separated and they were all around.
